January 9th is a very important day. On January 9, 1984, Becky stood in front of our good friend, John Brown, and agreed to stay with me “until death do us part.” So far, so good. Tuesday was our 34th anniversary and she has yet to “part” me. I have no doubt that the thought has crossed her mind, but she has more patience than good sense. But there’s more! She has assured me, on more than one occasion, that if I “go first” she has no intention of getting married again. Sorry fellas – running over me in the crosswalk won’t get you any closer to the prize.
