MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team fell to the Reddies of Henderson State Saturday afternoon at home by a final score of 69-47.

NOTABLES

UAM falls to 5-8 (1-7 GAC) this season.

HSU improves to 10-4 (6-2) overall on the year.

Mackenzie Johnson: 10 points, 4 rebounds

Charlynn Perry: 9 points, 2 rebounds

FIRST HALF

The Reddies got off to a hot start in this match-up as HSU went on an 11-0 run against UAM to begin the game. The Blossoms went on to recover, but found themselves trailing 13-8 by the first quarter's end.

Henderson State continued to capitalize on having the momentum in this ballgame, leading UAM by as much as 23 points late in the second quarter.

HSU went on to knock down seven total three-pointers in the opening half of play, compared to Arkansas-Monticello shooting 0-for-7 beyond the arc.


SECOND HALF

Henderson State continued to control the pace of the game into the second half, not letting up as HSU led 52-35 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Reddies saw its largest lead of the match-up with just over seven minutes to play in this game at 26 points, and went on to seal the game off by a final score of 69-47.

UAM finished the contest shooting 35 percent overall from the floor, compared to that of Henderson State, who shot 50 percent from the field on the day.

The Blossoms will return to the court next on Tuesday, January 16 as UAM will face GAC rival Southern Arkansas on the road in Magnolia, Arkansas at 5:30 p.m.
