Bugs baffle Newkirk in 62-20 blowout

ALVA, Okla. – The Alva Goldbugs got an opportunity to rest players before heading into the Cashion County Line Tournament this weekend, as the Bugs dominated the Newkirk Tigers at home, 62-20. Alva improved its record to 10-3 on the season.

After blowing out the Tigers on the road the previous Thursday, 73-37, most fans expected another easy victory. But there was no denying the hunger the Bugs had coming off its third loss of the year to Blackwell on Saturday.

Coach Shane Feely's defense didn't let up, even with the junior varsity players getting the majority of the time in the second half. T...
