A red carpet and strobe lights welcomed guests to the Alva Chamber Gala Monday evening in the ACT I Theatre building downtown. Inside guests enjoyed appetizers while they perused items donated for a fundraising auction. Charles Murrow auctioned some of the items while others went the silent auction route.
At the end of the evening, Chamber Director Alex Mantz drew from numbered ticket stubs for the two big prizes, a large portable cooler and $100 in Chamber Bucks. Alva Mayor Kelly Parker presented the citizen awards. During the evening he drew a few heckling comments from "friends" in the audi...
