Scoring Outburst Leads Hillcats to 93-58 Win over Saints

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball used its best offensive performance of the season to pull away for a 93-58 win over Randall on Tuesday (Jan. 30) at the Claremore Expo Center. The win ended a four-game home stretch for the Cats where they went 3-1.
The Hillcats (7-12) totaled season highs in points (93), field goal percentage (55.9), assists (24) and field goals made (38) with all of those tallies ranking in the top 10 in the RSU record book. The navy and red shot 38-of-68 from the field, including 22-of-32 in the second half for 68.8 percent.
Nikola Nedoroscikova finished with a career-high 13 assists, one assist of the school record of 14 assists held by Kami Bunch.
Lauren Schuldt registered a 10-of-12 shooting performance for 23 point, ranking in the top 10 all-time in the individual game records in both field goals made and field goal percentage (83.3).
Darian Jackson added a career-high 21 points and career-high 13 rebounds for a double-double. The sophomore went 9-of12 shooting with the nine made field goals ranking ninth all time in the RSU single game records.
A total of 11 Hillcats scored in the dominating victory. RSU tallied 34 bench points with 11 points coming from Lilly Garner with her career-high tally.
The Saints, which came into the game on a six-game winning streak, went up early at 5-2 less than two minutes into the game on a Kourtney Jones layup with 8:09 left in the first period.
RSU took control of the contest with a 23-3 run over the next 10 minutes of the game, capped by a Jackson 3-pointer at the 7:34 mark of second period for a 25-8 score.
Jackson started the spurt with a basket, and Schuldt put in the next nine points to give the Cats a 13-5 edge.
Jordan Evans registered the next four points for a 17-8 score after one period. Another Evans layup and back-to-back triples upped the navy and red's margin to 25-8. RSU had a 35-20 lead at halftime.
The Hillcats held control for the rest of the contest en route to the 93-58 win. In the second half, RSU shot 68.8 percent from the floor and totaled 58 points.
Randall's Jones and Morgan Fletcher each posted 17 points. Izzy Bacon went for 12 points.
