Storm win opener, drop second game of a doubleheader with OPSU

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene opened the 2018 season by splitting a twin bill with Oklahoma Panhandle State by winning the first game 7-2 before falling 9-2 in the nightcap.

In the opener, Ryan Mills (1-0) picked up the win in his first start for the Crimson Storm. He gave up two runs, just one earned, in five innings of work. He scattered eight hits and struck out four. Austin Cooper notched his first save of the year after giving up just two hits in 4.0 innings of work. He held the Aggies scoreless and struck out three.
