Wharton pitches complete game; Rangers top Tigers, 2-1

ALVA, Okla. – Fresh off a Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week honor earlier in the week, senior southpaw Walker Wharton pitched a gem for the Northwestern Oklahoma State baseball team on Friday. Wharton went all nine innings for the Rangers in a 2-1 victory over Missouri Southern State to avoid a three-game sweep.
Wharton (2-0), a redshirt senior, allowed eight hits and struck out eight Tiger batters in the complete game victory. It was the first Rangers complete game of the season, equaling the team total from all of last season.
