City fees waived for foster home construction

Local attorney Ed Sutter speaks to the Alva City Council Tuesday evening asking for a fee waiver on some of the costs of building a foster home in Alva. Those attending with Sutter included Kirk Washburn, Carol Cook Moore, Amber Maier and Janice Melton.

A local church group has asked the City of Alva to waive some fees on a construction project. Local attorney Ed Sutter spoke to the city council Tuesday, Feb. 20, about the Vera Mae Home to be built at 1741 Noble St. The program is affiliated with the Oklahoma Methodists and the Circle of Care.

"The reason we like this idea and our committee is mainly here today is because we're going to keep siblings together," said Sutter.
