UAM Hoops continues winning ways over Harding

SEARCY, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team defeated the Bisons of Harding on the road Thursday night, 75-71.

The Bisons drop to 5-21 (5-16 GAC) overall.

FIRST HALF
The Weevils were able to pull out in front of the Bisons midway through this match-up at 16-7 after made layups from Troy Thomas, and Goosby bolstered the offensive attack.
Arkansas-Monticello continued to pace the tempo over Harding throughout the remainder of the first half, holding multiple double-digit leads before heading into the break up 36-33.
UAM could not miss from the field in this opening half, shooting 63 percent overall, compared to that of Harding at just 36 percent from the floor.
SECOND HALF
Arkansas-Monticello continued to control the momentum of this contest into the second half, building double-digit leads once again, holding a 10 point advantage, with just under six minutes left to play.
Harding however would not go away, as the Bisons began generating its' combeback against the Weevils, after a 9-0 run to put the score at 63-62 with only four minutes remaining in the half.
Hill, Goosby, and Jackson provided the additional offensive spark late in this game to see UAM hold the lead for the remainder of the contest, taking the GAC victory 75-71 by the final buzzer.
Mawuenyega anchored the offensive attack in the second half, scoring 15 total points to help guide UAM over Harding.

UAM will conclude the regular season this Saturday, February 24 on the road in Russellville, Arkansas as the Weevils will face Arkansas Tech with tip-off slated for 3:00 p.m.
