Austin teen charged with making threat against high school

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Police say a teen has been charged with making a terroristic threat after telling students at an area high school that he planned to "shoot up and blow up" the school.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that 17-year-old Ariel Alex Ramirez Navarro was arrested Thursday. Affidavits filed Friday said students went to school administrators after getting off of their school bus Thursday morning to report that Navarro has shown them smoke bombs, ammunition and a loaded magazine and made threats against the school.

The threat caused an hours-long lockdown at Akins High School...
