Police: Ex-Arizona State student accused of making threats

February 25, 2018

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State University police say a former student has been arrested and is accused of making threats against people in the university's athletics program.

Police say they learned of the threats at noon Friday and arrested 20-year-old Edward Robinson eight hours later without incident at an off-campus location.

Detailed information on the alleged threats wasn't released but police say they threatened "violence against members of the Sun Devil athletics community."

Police spokeswoman Katy Harris says Robinson is a former student but has not been enrolled for more than a year.

Harris says he was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats, disruption of an educational institution and possession of marijuana.

Robinson remained in jail Saturday and it's not immediately known whether he has an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
