Balanced scoring lifts Bugs over Perry; AHS advances to area

PERKINS, Okla. – Following a win by the Ladybugs earlier in the day, the Alva Goldbugs made it a two-for-two afternoon in the regional consolation championship as they held off Perry, 60-52, at Perkins-Tryon High School on Monday.
The win set the Bugs first area appearance since the 2014-15 season. Much like that season, the Bugs lost its district game, before winning three straight in the loser’s bracket at regionals, to reach the area portion of the playoffs.
