1 killed, 1 hurt while walking on Kansas railroad bridge

 


TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say a train has struck and killed one person on a railroad bridge near Topeka and that a woman was injured when she jumped to get out of the way.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that 21-year-old Christian Charay, of Topeka, was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday. The 19-year-old woman who jumped from the bridge was rushed to a hospital in an ambulance.
