In a season full of highs and lows, the Alva Goldbugs campaign came to an end on Thursday night as they fell to No. 16 Sperry in the area quarterfinals, 67-66, in a game that came down to the wire.
The Goldbugs reached the area tournament after winning three straight games at the regional tournament last weekend at Chisholm and in Perkins. Their opponents, the Pirates, suffered their first loss of the playoffs in the regional championship game against No. 6 Millwood.
