The Alva Ladybugs season came to an end in the area quarterfinals on Thursday evening as they fell to the Kansas Lady Comet, 54-39, in Cleveland. Alva closes its 2017-18 season with a record 16-12, including three playoff wins in the regional tournament last weekend.
It was the seventh time in as many seasons the Ladybugs had reached the area tournament, while the Lady Comets were in the midst of their fifth straight trip to area.
