Storm Fall at Oklahoma Baptist

 


SHAWNEE, Okla. — Southern Nazarene opened Great American Conference play with a 9-0 loss at No. 4 (Central Region) Oklahoma Baptist Thursday afternoon.

In doubles, Judit Mas and Dragana Samardzic lost 8-1 to the region's top-ranked and No. 4 nationally Kim Moosbacher and Kateryna Shkot at No. 1. Polina Chala and Noelia Gomez fell 8-3 at No. 2 while Zoe Gray and Brinni Hair lost 8-2 at No. 3.

In singles, Gomez lost, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 to No. 6 (Region) Moosbacher. No. 2 singles featured No. 7 (Region) Polina Chala and No. 8 (Region) Shkot. Chala fell in straight sets, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5. Samardzic was the only player to pick up a set as she won the second set, 6-2, after falling 6-1 in the first set at No. 3. Samardzic though fell 11-9 in the tiebreaker.

Mas lost 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 while Gray lost 6-2, 6-2, at No. 5. Hair also lost 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6.
