At a recent meeting, the Alva Arena Authority set June as the target date for starting arena construction. That date is looking more and more realistic as the trustees mark off items on their checklist.

On Dec. 21, 2017, the authority took possession of a deed to land gifted by the Mackey family. Meanwhile, the design committee worked toward agreement on a final arena design. The authority put out requests for quotes, and in February interviewed several of the companies responding to oversee the construction process.
