Future shock

Each morning as I trudge outside to pick up the paper or papers if it’s a Courier Day, I reflect on the miracle that I am living and thank the creator for another day of life. I look to the sky, the ground, the trees, and listen for birds, for Alva is rich with their bickering, another reason to be thankful.
It’s a fact that for most of my seven decades of life, I really failed to appreciate the opportunities that life has given me, and while I enjoy the environment, I have taken for granted the freedom, health and happiness that my ancestors made sacrifices for that I might prosper. While we...
