Burlington School News: FFA and 4-H students conduct educational livestock show

Pre-K student Jordan Matzke, with her mother and fifth grader Emily Klippenstein, enjoy a baby goat owned by fifth grader Haylee Jantz at the Burlington local stock show.

Burlington FFA and 4-H students recently presented a local stock show to the elementary students in their school show barn. The 4-H and FFA students brought in their animals for all of the students to see and touch. The students brought their animals into the show ring and Advisor Travis Bradshaw talked about why the animal is shown, what is it used for, how the student cares for the animal, and what the judges are looking for during a competition.

The elementary students were also given ribbons for their placement in a coloring contest that was sponsored by the agricultural programs. The FFA...
