Storm Fall to Arkansas Tech

EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene won two singles matches as it fell 7-2 to Arkansas Tech Thursday in a Great American Conference match.
Noelia Gomez and Polina Chala each won their singles matches, but the Golden Suns (6-1, 3-0 GAC) won the other four singles matches and swept doubles.
Gomez had to go to a tiebreaker to win her match at No. 1 singles as she won the first set, 6-2, before falling 6-4 in the second set. She won the tiebreaker 10-7. Chala won in straight sets at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1. Anna Garcia fell 6-4, 6-3, at No. 3 while Dragana Samardzic was down 5-0 at No. 4 when she retired.
Judit Mas forced a tiebreaker at No. 5 after falling 7-6 (7-3) in the first set by winning the second 6-4. She lost the tiebreaker though 10-2. Zoe Gray also fell in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6.
Gomez and Gray fell 8-2 at No. 1 doubles while Garcia and Samardzic lost 8-4 at No. 2. Chala and Mas also lost 9-7 at No. 3.
