SE Golf Leads After First Round

POTTSBORO, TEXAS – Southeastern, paced by a pair of under-par rounds, fired a 287 in the opening round of the Lion Invite at Tanglewood on Monday afternoon and hold an eight-stroke lead heading into round two on Tuesday at Tanglewood Resort.

The 287 by the Savage Storm bested the first-round 295 by Ranger College and the 300 by host Texas A&M-Commerce which was in third.

Hayden Foster paced SE with a first-round 69 to finish round one in fourth place.

Zach James was right behind with a first-round 70 and is currently tied for fifth.

Sam Berry also checked in the top 10 after carding a 73 which was good for a tie for ninth.

Ryan Woods followed up with a 75 and is tied for 15th after one round, while Ruben Figueiredo comes in tied for 21stwith a 77.

The Savage Storm's second squad checked in seventh as a team, led by Jodan Holifield who fired a first round 74 and is tied for 12th.


Cody Darling is next in line with a 75 in a tie for 15th, with Austin Adams right behind with a 77 in a tie for 21st.

Trevor Proctor followed up with an 80 and is tied for 36th, while Nick Sinpradith wrapped up the second squad with an 88 and is in 53rd.

SE had a foursome playing as individuals as well, led by Bryce Hughes who carded a first-round 78 and is tied for 28th, with Ryan Capps next in line tied for 34th with a 79.

Cody Reed followed with an 81 and is tied for 38th, while Nick Wren is tied for 51st with a score of 87.

Round two is slated for Tuesday morning at Tanglewood Resort.
