Rangers wrap-up Day 1 of UNK Invitational in Nebraska

March 25, 2018

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's golf team shot a team score of 336 during the opening round of the 2018 UNK Women's Spring Invitational at Awarii Dunes Golf Club.

The 336 places the Rangers in eighth place for the event as windy, cold conditions plagued the course throughout the round. Northwestern will have some work to do come tomorrow morning in the final round if they hope to catch a few teams on the leader board.

Juniors Kelsi Wilson and Riley Eller led the Rangers with rounds of 81 and 83 to sit in a tie for 20th and 27th place. Nikkole Donk shot 85 and Olivia Brock shot 87 for the Black-and-Red, while freshman Ashley Watts rounded out the team with a round of 96.

Augustana University fired a team score of 298 to take the overnight lead behind Kali Troutman's outstanding score of five-under par 67. The Rangers currently trail Jamestown University by six strokes for seventh place and sixth place University of Sioux Falls by 12 strokes.

The Rangers will get their bounce-back round started Sunday morning with a 10:30 a.m. shot-gun start.
