Schubert-Akin finished 2017 Boston Marathon despite fractures in both legs

Rehabilitated and ready for 24th Consecutive Boston Marathon next Monday

Marathon runner Jennifer Schubert-Akin found swimming a great way to rehab her injured legs this past year. This led to her first triathlon competition in Naples, Florida. Now she feels ready to run her 24th consecutive Boston Marathon on Patriot's Day next Monday.

Let's just say that my sister, Jennifer Schubert-Akin, is determined, pursues and achieves excellence in most all that she does. For example, she's a 1975 graduate of Burlington High School where she was valedictorian, at OU was outstanding senior of fine arts, is co-founder and CEO of the Steamboat Institute that celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year, and has been married to Rick for 37 years this May.

It didn't surprise me that while running her 23rd consecutive Boston Marathon last April she sustained fractures to her tibial plateaus in both legs in the second half of the 26.2 mile race...
