ALVA, Okla. – It was a tough start of the week for Alva High School baseball as they suffered a pair of home losses against Tonkawa and Newkirk on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

On Sunday, the original schedule was altered as the Goldbugs were supposed to host Newkirk on Monday, followed by a trip to Seiling on Tuesday. However, the change allowed back-to-back home games prior to heading to Midwest City for the always tough Bill Tipton Classic at Carl Albert High School.

No. 14 Alva started the week with a 5-3 loss against Tonkawa, followed by a defeat at the hands of Newkirk, 7-5. The Bugs...
