Henderson State rebounded from a 19-9 loss in the first game of a double-headed with Southwestern Oklahoma, beating the Bulldogs 9-4 in the final game to win the three-game Great American Conference series, Saturday in Weatherford, Okla.

The Reddies, 26-14 overall and 19-8 in GAC play, won their sixth series of the year with two series' remaining in the regular-season.

Head Coach Cody Hooten picked up his 205th victory as skipper of the Reddies and is tied with legendary coach Clyde Berry for most wins in HSU history.

Henderson got on the board early scoring three runs in the first-inning with Zack Gray blasting a two-run homer for the first runs of the game. The inning continued with two outs as Dylan McCain singled to right field and advanced to third on a fielding error. Bryson Haskins followed with a double down the leftfield line to score McCain.

Again Henderson put together some two-out magic in the third-inning as McCain tripled to right center followed by Haskins receiving a walk and stealing second. Brandon Pollock plated both runners when he doubled to right field to increase the Reddie lead to 5-0.

With two outs in the fourth, McCain again came through with a RBI single to score Gray who singled and advanced to second on Nolan Ryan's base-hit to right field.

The Reddies added three more runs in the fifth as Pollock led off with a single up the middle, followed by a two-run home run by Joseph Shepherd. Henderson's final run came as the Reddies loaded the bases with a single by Myers, a walk issued to Gray and another single by Ryan. McCain picked up a run batted in when he was walked to score Pollock.

Zach Eschberger got the start on the mound and worked 6.0 innings, surrendering just two hits, while tying his career-high with 10 strikeouts in picking up the win and improving to 6-3 on the year.

McCain led the Reddie offense going 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while Gray was 2-for-4 with a home run, and Pollock going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.

In the first game of the double-header, the Bulldogs scored 16 runs in the first three innings in picking up their lone win of the weekend.

Despite the loss Henderson totaled 13 hits with Carr and Ryan having three hits each, while Gray, McCain and Pollock each had two hits.

Carr had three runs batted in to go along with a triple in the contest. McCain and Gray each had home runs with Gray driving in three runs.

The Reddies return home next Friday to play host to Northwestern Oklahoma for a three-game GAC series with the first-pitch set for 6 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
