Share Convalescent Home gross revenue down for month

The Share Convalescent Home gross patient revenue for the month of March totaled $347,224, which was a $26,369 decrease compared to the prior month. The operating cash balance at the end of the month was $39,106, which represents 3.9 days of operating expenses excluding depreciation.

The accounts payable balance for March was $297,606, which represents 48 days of operating expenses excluding costs related to salaries, benefits and depreciation.

The convalescent home salaries and wages for March totaled $135,816, which was an increase of $2,449 compared to the prior month. Net operating income for March was $33,434. The overall annual income for 2018 for the fiscal year is $274,940 compared to a year earlier of $145,078.

The average daily census for this year has been 57.55 patients. Last year's average was 52.0.

The nursing home administrator, Rita Goodrich, said they've hired three part-time people for housekeeping and that seems to be working well. She said the staff problems have been easing and they've hired several CNAs and some dietary staff.

New staff hired includes McKenzie Earle, homestead dietary; Allison Hinderliter, nursing home nursing; Fawnda Martin, nursing home dietary; Kelsey Neal, nursing home nursing; Mallory Overpeck, nursing home housekeeping; Shirley Revel, nursing home housekeeping; Lacie Swenn, nursing home nursing; and Jennifer Walker, nursing home housekeeping.

Goodrich said they are working on changes in the policy and procedure manuals because there have been more changes in “Requirements of Participation” in many areas.
