Woodward, Dewey County wildfires continue to burn

According to the daily fire situation report from the Oklahoma Forestry Services, firefighters were still actively engaged in three fires in northwestern Oklahoma Thursday morning. The Hooker Fire in Texas County burned 179 acres before being contained.

The report posted at 8 a.m. Friday showed the most recent continuing fire near Laverne (Beaver and Harper counties) was 80 percent contained with 10 acres burned.

The 34 Complex fire in Woodward County was 80 percent contained with an estimated 67,778 acres burned.

The biggest wildfire, the Rhea Fire, located in Dewey County has burned 283,095...
