ALVA, Okla. – Fresh off signing a letter of intent to play baseball at Butler Community College (Kan.) on Tuesday, Stanton Earnest celebrated by mowing down Hennessey on the field on Thursday. Earnest threw a no-hitter to shut down the Eagles, 11-0, in the opening game of the 2018 playoffs.
In a best two-of-three series to decide the district championship, Alva made work of Hennessey in the second game of the day with a 10-3 to advance to regional play. Regional assignments will be announced on Monday and will be played May 3-5.
The wins move the Goldbugs to 10 games over .500 with a 22-1...
