Strong storms spawn Oklahoma tornado, no injuries reported

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The National Weather Service says strong storms spawned one tornado and possibly four more in Oklahoma, but no injuries or significant damage are reported.

Meteorologist John Pike said Thursday that an EF1 tornado with winds of 86-110 mph (138-177 kph) touched down Wednesday night in northeastern Norman.

Emergency management officials say there are no injuries.

Pike says the weather service was still working to confirm tornadoes near Lone Wolf, Mountain View, Pocasset and Byng.
