Cherokee Outlet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) met on April 12t in the Alva library. After the opening ritual, Regent Piper presented a program on an episode in history in which the Central Intelligence Agency played a critical role. The episode was used as a basis for the 2012 award-winning movie “Argo,” in which the key figure was one known to Regent Piper. The movie depicted a successful clandestine operation by the CIA that rescued American embassy workers who had found refuge in the Canadian Embassy while the American Embassy was being overrun by the Iranians.
