Cherokee Outlet chapter of DAR meets

 


Cherokee Outlet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) met on April 12t in the Alva library. After the opening ritual, Regent Piper presented a program on an episode in history in which the Central Intelligence Agency played a critical role. The episode was used as a basis for the 2012 award-winning movie “Argo,” in which the key figure was one known to Regent Piper. The movie depicted a successful clandestine operation by the CIA that rescued American embassy workers who had found refuge in the Canadian Embassy while the American Embassy was being overrun by the Iran...
