DAR's final meeting of the year

The Cherokee Outlet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held its final meeting of the year on May 10 at 2 p.m. in the Alva Public Library. Those present were Regent Teri Piper, Mary Barker, Louise Prigmore, Marcilene Piper, Linda Peterman, Phyllis Wiersig, Marcile Lancaster and Thelma Crouch..

Regent Piper led the chapter in the patriotic exercises.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Phyllis Wiersig gave the treasure's report.

Mary Barker and Thelma Crouch gave a report on the recent DAR conference in Norman. Newly elected State Regent Sue Allen of Ponca City will be honored with an inaugural reception on July 21 at the Marland Mansion in Ponca City. Phyllis Wiersig was elected as state chairman of the Service to America committee.

Louise Prigmore led the chapter in the installation of officers.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
