An agenda entry entitled “Discussion on events and activities to be entered into the Oklahoma Magazine website” created a discussion surrounding such issues as “should the town be responsible for feeding information to websites or should the Freedom Chamber of Commerce be responsible?”

Another approach suggested was that each entity should be responsible for their own event if they wished website presence. For example, the Freedom EMS recently hosted a mud run as a fund-raiser. Should the city be involved in publicity for that?

No conclusion was drawn from the discussion other than the city might keep a list of potential tourism-type websites that could be handed out to those who wished to follow through.

Another lengthy discussion had to do with literature on a gas monitor. Last month, the board agreed the city should possess such a monitor and be trained in its use. Monday night, Stuart Page presented a quote on an EGW brand gas monitor that he described as “mid-range” in price at $3,220.74. Since the information had arrived only that day, the board wanted to learn a bit more about the device before voting.

The board voted to become a member of the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group. This will give the town voting rights in the organization. The group provides Freedom's auto and property insurance. The board may look into their worker's compensation insurance rates.

A question about re-zoning was answered by the city attorney. He advised 15-day notice must be given.
