Cherokee man has broken neck from wreck

 


A Cherokee man suffered a broken neck in an Alfalfa County wreck Monday. Ronal G. McMurtrey, 82, was transported by Alva EMS to Share Medical in Alva and then transferred to OU Medical in Oklahoma City. He was admitted in stable condition with a broken neck.

The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. May 21 on County Road 550, three-tenths of a mile south of Greer Road. The location is approximately four miles west and three miles south of Ingersoll.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says McMurtrey was driving a 1997 Ford pickup north on County Road 550 when the front driver-side wheel and tire came off...
