Alva woman accused of stealing pills from client

 


An Alva woman contracted to care for an elderly woman is facing Woods County felony charges for allegedly abusing that role.

Kathy Jo Rathgeber, 58, of Alva, has been charged with burglary in the second degree and abuse by caretaker. Both are felonies. The first is punishable by imprisonment for two to seven years. The second is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years or by a fine not exceeding $10,000, or both.

According to court documents, a woman whose mother is a resident at The Homestead in Alva met with Woods County Undersheriff Keith Dale on May 11 alleging Rathgeber was stealing...
