Memorial Day Service

Lynn L. Martin

A couple dozen attendees came to observe the Memorial Day service at Hatfield Park Monday morning at 9 a.m. The Boy Scouts first attached the U.S. flag, the Oklahoma flag, and are in the process of affixing the POW flag. The three were raised to the top, then lowered to half-mast. Memorial Day is one of six scheduled days the flag is to fly at half-mast. The scouts were: Daxton Williams, Kooper Rich, Jaxson Headlee and Andred Barton. After the flag ceremony, the crowd assembled at a pavilion and heard remarks from Arden Chaffee, Kelly Parker and Carol Cook Moore, and then enjoyed coffee and donuts. A video of the flag ceremony can be seen on the newspaper website at AlvaReviewCourier.com.
