Real-life `Gracie the Tortoise' definitely wins and gives you hope in a book

 

You'll find this book that gives you hope and also fine art painted by Kerry Billington of Edmond at the Nescatunga Arts Festival in Alva, Saturday, June 2.

The day before 911, an Edmond family appeared on The Today Show with their beloved tortoise named Gracie. You see, Gracie had gone missing for three years following a 1998 tornado in Edmond and found her way home. That is a story.

So much, that her owners Kerry and Janie Billington wrote a book entitled "Gracie's Unexpected Journey, a True Story about Hope." The illustration and layout is by D.J. Labay and Liz Warren.

They will bring the "Gracie" book and also Billington's oils, acrylics and pastels art to the Nescatunga Arts Festival on Alva's downtown square Saturday, June 2.
