Like most of the surrounding school districts, the Cherokee school board elected to establish a temporary budget to start school using 90 percent of last year's numbers.
The temporary figures will be modified by the excise boards later in the fall. The general fund is $7,508,065, building fund $229,670, child nutrition fund $142,175, building bond fund #31 $837,844.83, gift fund #81 $30,495.53, and sinking fund #41 $428,243.73.
The end-of-May balances for the different funds were: general fund $3,638,260.85, building fund $217,322.12, lunch fund $41,085.22, roof bond fund $837,844.83, sinking...
