Term limits – to have or not to have for Kiowa council and mayor seats?

Between 30 and 40 people attended a town hall meeting in Kiowa regarding whether or not to have term limits for the Kiowa City Council. The issue will be decided in a July 10 special election.

Thursday evening between 30 and 40 residents gathered at Kiowa's Community Building to discuss and/or listen to an explanation about term limits for the city council member and mayor. Kiowa's City Council called this informative gathering for the public to see both sides of the issue that will be decided in a special election next Tuesday, July 10.

Mayor Ron Rohr welcomed the group, explaining how the informative gathering would work. Councilman R.L. Simpson spoke on behalf of the council and why they voted in February to remove term limits. This was with the passage of Resolution No. 18-018....
