2 ailing harbor seals rescued in California make Texas debut


GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — Two harbor seals rescued in California but too sick or hurt to be returned to the wild have a new home at a nature-friendly exhibit in Texas.

The seals named Tomato and Ravioli made their public debut this week at Moody Gardens in Galveston. The 1-year-old seals, in the North Pacific Exhibit in the Aquarium Pyramid, can also be seen via webcam.

Moody Gardens, in a statement Thursday , said the seals were rescued separately last year and cared for by the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center in Crescent City, California. Tomato and Ravioli were transported to Moody Garden...
