ALVA, Okla. – Last weekend, shock waves began to ripple across the Alva Goldbug community with word head football coach Taylor Schwerdtfeger had informed the football he had resigned his position as coach and Alva Public Schools athletic director.
The resignation was quickly made official Monday evening when the Alva School Board accepted Schwerdfeger's resignation, in which the former coach and AHS alum laid out the circumstance behind his decision in a detailed letter to the board.
The decision was simple for one reason: family.
