Needed: cheap psychologist

My confidant for the last 17 years has died. For the really important things there is always Cleo. I miss my friends Max Faulkner and Bob Keele daily. If I came up with a hairball idea these two guys would guide me through the pros and cons on whether it had merit. My friend Bryan, my dad, brother Jack and a few others have taken over and has kept me out of trouble so far.
For the really goofy stuff the emu next door was my shrink. He listened intently to me then gave a nod if I was past silly. More than that, the original four, and finally this last one have entertained three generations of customers and visitors over the years. It was a great feeling to see a kid grab Dad's hand and say, “Let me show you what Grandpa and I found the last time we were here.” I have a guinea pig, but Norman has a limited view of life. So if you are willing to work for chicken feed, “Can We Talk?”
Wednesday evening was very special at the Scribner home. Elenore Kimbrough and her daughter Leslie stopped for a visit on the way to their family reunion at Lawrence, Kansas. Dad, Barbara Faulkner and Bryan Martin stopped by for a visit. I'm not sure when Elenore moved to Alva, but she became a member of the sewing group with Cleo and has been a great friend every since. Sadly for Alva she moved to Aurora, Colorado, some years ago. It made good sense because a lot of her family live up there and could see lots more of her. While they visited Leslie and I fed the salvage cats, then went down to Dad's to see his goats. I know she is a good person, because all the animals shined up to her immediately. Elenore doesn't drive across country anymore, but still drives to church and the rest home. When she was cross-country mobile, highway patrolmen everywhere knew her by name.
Praise the Lord and the Thailand seals for the safe rescue of the 12 boys and their coach from the cave they were trapped in. Every once in a while something so dramatic and potentially disastrous comes along that the world bands together. The trapped young people caught the attention and imagination of everyone. Prayers for the family of the diver that passed away.
