Freedom Gates Boys Ranch fundraiser exceeds expectations

“What a huge blessing,” Freedom Gates Boys Ranch (FGBR) President Michael Simpson said.

Last weekend the FGBR held a fundraising hamburger feed and auction in Medicine Lodge at The Heritage Center. Simpson said they had set a goal of $20,000. “By God's blessings we raised $21,403,” he said. “We are humbled by the outpouring of the community.”

FGBR is a comprehensive youth development organization with emphasis in sharing the love of Christ with boys; and to show them that through Christ they can change the course of their lives.

The FGBR website says it takes approximately $30 a day to cover the following costs for one boy: food, clothing, school supplies, housing expenses (utilities), medical or other appointments, houseparents, counseling, farm and ranch program, vehicle maintenance, transportation costs to school functions.
