Oklahoma family hunts snakes after baby bitten by copperhead

 


KELLYVILLE, Okla. (AP) — The family of a toddler who was bitten by a copperhead in Oklahoma decided to spend their Fourth of July holiday hunting snakes.

The Tulsa World reports that Finley Roth's parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts spent three days killing 17 venomous copperheads with their shovels in Creek County.

Finley was at her grandparents' farm near Kellyville July 1 when the family heard the toddler scream after she walked over to a tree. The family found that a 6-inch copperhead had bitten Finley on her big toe, turning her foot purple. She stayed at the Children's Hospital...
