My neighbor, K.P., says his son is planning on a career in truck driving. I’ve written on the progress of self-driving truck technology, but recent setbacks due to autonomous vehicle accidents means that there will be a need for drivers well into the ‘20s.

Despite fears of looming trade wars, the backbone of the U.S. economy is the truck.
