Jewell resigns, Graham hired, bond issue election Aug. 28 at Burlington

Transportation and Building Bond explained at public meeting in library Aug. 20, 7:30 p.m.

 


The Burlington Board of Education held a special meeting Monday night that had lots of action taken in approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Longtime fourth-grade teacher Danielle Jewell submitted her letter of resignation, which the board accepted. “We will miss her greatly,” Burlington Superintendent Dr. Stacey Croft said of the “strong” teacher. Croft said Jewell and her family are moving to Kiowa.

The board hired Anne Graham as a new elementary teacher for the 2018-19 school year. Croft said that Graham will teach third grade. She is already a resident of Burlington as her husband is Doug Gr...
