Sunflowers in bloom a little early in the Sunflower State

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — It's an early sunflower season in the Sunflower State.

The Lawrence Journal-World reports that sunflowers are blooming a couple of weeks early in parts of Kansas. Hunsinger Farms Sunflower Patch owner George Hunsinger blames "strange" weather. He says Labor Day weekend is typically prime bloom time.
