City of Kiowa budget hearing held and more city business

The Kiowa City Council held a public hearing for the proposed 2019 tax budget on Aug. 13.

No members of the public voiced an opinion about the budget. The board approved the proposed budget that has general fund expenditures of $2,780,910. The mills decreased by .273.

City Administrator Lou Leone said the mills for the 2018 budget were 46.895. For the new 2019 budget the mills are 46.622. That amount is from 44.023 mills for the city's general fund and 2.599 mills for the public library.
