'Huge deficiencies' at Alva Municipal Pool

The Alva Municipal Swimming Pool sits empty. It was closed Aug. 6 by the state health department due to numerous deficiencies, some of them major.

An Aug. 8 inspection by the state health department revealed many problems with the city's swimming pool. Some are easy to repair and some will be expensive and difficult to repair. Alva Business Manager Joe Don Dunham described them as 'huge deficiencies."

Dunham said the health department shut down the pool until the city can figure out a plan to correct the problems. He listed both types of problems for the city council Monday.
