UAM Volleyball Splits Day at CBU Invitational

Memphis, Tenn. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team continued play at the CBU Invitational Saturday, defeating Christian Brothers 3-2 in the first match, and falling to Kentucky Wesleyan in match two.

Match ONe

Final set scores from the match were 25-22, 24-26, 25-20, 22-25, and 15-11 in favor of UAM.

UAM Volleyball records win number one this season, putting their record at 1-2.

Christian Brothers suffers its' first loss of the year, dropping to 2-1 overall.

Match Two

Megan Orth had herself a breakout match, recording a dominate 20 kills to lead UAM offensively.

MarKayla Dickie notched double-digits as well in the kills category with 16 overall.

Halli Lambert secured her second double-double of the season, with 19 digs, and 12 kills.

Shayna Daniels provided a team-high 36 assists, a career-high for the senior setter.

UAM as a team recorded 4.5 total blocks, coming from Zealia Kleitz, Halli Lambert, Brittany Hamilton, and Laurene Cushinberry.

Notables

Final set scores from the match were 25-19, 26-28, 19-25, and 16-25 in favor of the Panthers.

Arkansas-Monticello drops to 1-3 overall to begin the 2018 season.

Kentucky Wesleyan improves to 1-2 on the year.

Up Next

MarKayla Dickie totaled 14 kills in the contest, and is the most Dickie has recorded in her UAM career thus far.

Shayna Daniels tallied 31 assists to help lead Arkansas-Monticello, along with adding 11 kills.

Jessica Mahan provided a match-high 17 digs, her most in a UAM uniform as well.

Freshman Halli Lambert continued her strong weekend with 11 digs, and seven kills in the match.

UAM will next take on Arkansas-Fort Smith on the road in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Tuesday, August 28 in a non-conference match-up scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
