Denzil Acklin was born on January 14, 1929, in Johnston City, Illinois, to Charles and Bertie (Spiller) Acklin, and passed from this life on August 21, 2018, at his home near Helena, Oklahoma. On August 19, 1952, he married Betty Ayers in Boulder where they began their life together.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Acklin; one son, one daughter, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
